This Systems Administrator is a critical component of service to our
end-user base. The Systems Administration role, within Systems
Management, provides employee owners higher availability of their
network resources through several monitoring tools hosted on the UNIX
Servers. The Systems Administrator is responsible for daily management
of Metric Data Reporting, monitoring the Remedy queues, and problem
resolution. The Manager for UNIX Systems Management supervises the
System Administration role.

Required Skills:

Strong background in UNIX (Solaris 2.6 and up) operating systems
Experience with Sun hardware Extensive knowledge of NFS, DNS, SMTP,
Postfix, FTP, SSH General familiarity with TCP/IP networking concepts
UNIX Scripting Veritas Net Backup Disk Suite / Volume Manager
Familiarity with Oracle RDBMS Good verbal and written communication
skills

3+ years of UNIX support experience

Specific Responsibilities:

* Request resolution Requests are entered by internal customers and are
tracked through Remedy tool

* Problem Resolution Identified by our monitoring tools.

* Other Server Maintenance Other administrative tools used as needed.

* Global Change Board Submit, implement, and close any items you are
involved with.

Must have more than 3-5 years experience with:

Veritas NetBackup Intermediate

DNS Intermediate

UNIX Intermediate

FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

NFS Intermediate

System Administrator

SMTP Simple Mail Transfer Protocol)

Perl Intermediate

Unix scripts

Communication

Sun Hardware

Disk Suite
